Ebenezer Chapel Worthing -
Awarded “ A DISTINCTION IN BUILDING” By Worthing Borough Council 2010
The Chapel was purchased by tender in July 2006 by Gavin and Elaine who have worked closely with architects and Worthing Borough Council to ensure that it would remain as one of Worthing’s original character properties.
The process was by no means easy – it became a project of almost “Grand Designs” scale. Critical to the design and build was the desire to maintain the aesthetic qualities of the original structure while meeting today’s energy and environmental considerations. Richard Small, The Design & Conservation Architect of Worthing Council appreciates our commitment to the build.“
We were really pleased to be of help on this project and guide Gavin & Elaine through some of the historic building is sues. The final result demonstrates how it is possible to adapt and generate a building such as this, whilst maintaining the original qualities of such a unique character building.
The use of reclaimed materials and careful attention to detail make this scheme an ideal candidate for Worthing Borough Council’s“ Distinction in Historic Building Awards”
